In recent years, many states have passed litigation allowing those survivors that were abused as children to come forward and file civil claims, no matter how long ago the abuse occurred. This is especially important since many survivors who reported their abusers years ago to the Catholic church were led to believe that they were the only victims to ever make a claim against a specific priest, which in many cases was just not true. The cover-up by the Catholic church which involved hiding, transferring, and ignoring claims brought against pedophile priest spans decades. It is also likely one of the reasons why so many accounts of sexual abuse committed by priests and clergy are still unreported today.
Our goal in providing a list of priests accused is to first show the sheer number of priests accused so that people can better understand the level of betrayal and cover-up spawned within the Catholic church, and second, but more importantly, to show survivors that they are not alone and to encourage them to come forward. While no amount of money can erase what happened, compensation and counseling may be available, even if the abuser is no longer living. Please note, if you can’t find your abuser listed below, it does NOT mean that you don’t have a claim. The Catholic church has yet to release a full list of accused priests to the public, meaning there are other abusers known to the church whose names have not been released. Furthermore, our firm is still in the process of compiling the list of publicly named priests which includes thousands of names. Please check back as new names are added to our website weekly.
Use the filters below to search the list of priests and clergy members accused of sexual abuse or misconduct. You can sort priests accused by first or last name, parish or diocese, city and state, and even by the year they were assigned to each location. This is not a complete list and more clergy are added to the site on a weekly basis.
Due to the extremely large size of the database compiled, please be patient while the accused list loads and filters results. It may take up to 15 seconds depending on the speed of your computer or mobile device. Note that the table will start filtering as soon as you start typing in a category.

*Note that those included in the list above have not necessarily been convicted of a crime, or even proven liable in a civil lawsuit. We have done our best to report those members of the Catholic church who have been accused of sexual abuse or assault, and properly indicate whether or not those allegations were confirmed as credible by the Church and its Dioceses. Additionally, where jury verdicts or public settlements disclosed the clergy member(s) accused, we’ve indicated that as well.
This is not an exhaustive list of all the clergy or lay persons associated with the Catholic church who have been accused of sexual abuse or misconduct. The United States justice system states that anyone charged with a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, a person(s) named in a civil lawsuit is also presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

“MOST OF ALL…..Thank you for the personal attention you and your firm have extended to me. I’m really just “Joe Citizen” and to receive this personal level of follow-up and personal attention is absolutely unprecedented in my 30 years of dealing with various attorneys and their respective firms. FEENEY LAW FIRM is undoubtedly a leader in the client relations category. No matter what the outcome….your group is a #1 and worthy of any qualified referrals I come across!!” Rich – Pekin,IL
“We as a whole have a tendency to be apprehensive when dealing with large law firms, or any law firm, for that matter, they tend to be all business, with little or no compassion. Feeney Law, is an exception to that rule, in particular Ms. Barbra Flowers. Ms. Flowers always took the time to answer my calls or return my call in a timely manner, Ms. Flowers was a ray of sunshine in another words a very gloomy time of my life, if Ms. Flowers is an example of how Feeney Law does business, then all I have to say is BROVO ZULU, keep up the good work, I can’t thank you enough.” Robert – Norfolk, VA
